On this Teacher’s Day, it is important to acknowledge the contributions of those who are silently shaping society through education. At the forefront of this mission stands Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Bhat Sahab, Chairman of Doon International School, whose vision has transformed an idea into a reality that is touching hundreds of young lives. Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Bhat’s story is one of resilience and generosity. He began his life with humble means and faced serious financial challenges in his early years. Yet, with hard work and the blessings of Allah, he rose to prosperity. What makes him truly remarkable is that he decided to use this wealth not for personal luxuries but for the welfare of society. He chose education as the strongest tool of change and invested his resources in establishing Doon International School in Singhpora Pattan, an area that needed quality education. His commitment goes beyond building an institution—he also helps the needy selflessly. Whether it is supporting a widow, helping an orphan with books, paying fees for underprivileged students, or assisting a poor family with the marriage of a daughter, Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Bhat is always there. His generosity is well known and has earned him the love and respect of people across Singhpora and Pattan. Carrying this mission forward is his son, Mr. Raaj Bhat, the Vice Chairman of Doon International School. At just 32 years of age, he has shown a level of dedication rarely seen. His energy, ideas, and determination to bring modern education to the region have added new dimensions to the institution. I had a personal experience that reflects his commitment: a few days ago, when he was unwell and admitted to the hospital, he continued to discuss only one thing—the future of his students. Even on a hospital bed, his thoughts were about the school, its children, and how to give them the best possible education. This selfless dedication makes him a role model for young leaders. Adding strength to this vision is Mr. Aijaz Bhat, Campus Director of Doon International School, who ensures that the daily academic and administrative functioning runs smoothly. His efforts in maintaining discipline, guiding teachers, and supporting students are invaluable. Together, the three—Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Campus Director—have created an institution that is more than just a school; it is a symbol of hope for the future. On this Teacher’s Day, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Bhat Sahab Chairman DIS Singhpora, Mr. Raaj Bhat, Vice Chairman DIS and Mr. Aijaz Bhat, Campus Director DIS. My suggestion for them is to continue expanding opportunities for underprivileged children so that no child is left behind. The people of Singhpora and Pattan should feel grateful for their vision, and I personally feel thankful for the service they are rendering to society.
